Only one more left :)
This ended up being one of my favorite pages :3
Just two more pages left, and then I can start updating Everblue more regularly :)
I’ve gotta say, I’ve been really happy with how the character designs turned out for this comic, and Kytaha here was my favorite from the cast. I think working for Amya has given me a lot of great practice overall, but especially with character design.
Faye in Awkward School Photo form, as per this year’s wallpaper theme for http://comiccreatorsforfreedom.com/ !
The rabbits on this and the last page gave me a lot of trouble. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever tried drawing a realistic rabbit before this, let alone one being prepared for lunch XD.
I’m also getting super close to finishing the next page of Everblue ;__;. I just need to color it now :)
I think it is quite a stretch to say I have implied Kaden is only strong because of the women who contributed to raising her; considering I have said nothing of the like.
We are only three pages into a nine page short story; you haven’t even met Kytaha yet. Why are you already being judgmental of her role? Shall I tell you if Kytaha was a man, the script would play out just the same? Will it ease your mind if I clarify this chapter has nothing to do with exploring sexuality? Renie and Kytaha are already a couple when the chapter begins, and it is not questioned by any of the characters involved- it is a definitive point the characters have no reason to be uneasy with. They are two women that do not need to question their existence or their love for each other. They simply are.
Can we look back to Lenna’s backstory for a moment? A girl who was turned away by both her father and society after her mother’s death, only to be adopted by a single man who took the time to raise, love, and teach her?
Or Faye, who was raised by a mother and father in a stable environment? All of these characters come from incredibly different backgrounds and are strong characters. No one event or person has shaped them into who they are. They have found the strength within themselves to try again after each failure, and stand tall after the world forces them to crumble.
I guess what I am trying to say- is the sexuality of those around us has nothing to do with finding our own inner strength. Relax.
Long story short, I had to pay my taxes late this year and I just received the penalty charges in the mail.
If anyone’s interested in helping me raise enough funds by the end of this month, please consider buying some comics from me at the Everblue store :). There are posters available as well as some that I usually only sell at conventions.
There’s also a donate button in the sidebar on the Everblue site in case you just want to chip in a dollar or two.
Anyway, I can’t thank you guys enough for all your support over the years! Really I just want to get more comics out to people, so maybe this is a blessing in disguise X’D
This was my favorite panel from the page because I generally have a hard time populating environments with lots of “stuff” but I think it turned out nice here. Just go back and read Chapter 1 of Everblue to see what I mean about those empty backdrops of mine XD.
The first page of Kaden’s short story is up on Amya Chronicles! This has been one of my favorite shorts to work on for Amya. I love the characters in this one :]
Currently working on finishing up the rest of these pages, but Everblue should be starting up again soon this month as well.
I hope you all enjoy a glimpse into Kaden’s past. We’ve had a lot of fun putting this one together. :)

The pitch: Biscuit is a privileged kid from the fanciest magic school in town. After he is found with cheating paraphernalia, he is expelled, and as punishment his father sends to a magic school on the bad side of town. Book 1 captures the opening of Biscuit’s story, as well as introduces a whole host of colorful characters from the other side of the train tracks. It’s a magic story with laughs, fun, dragonballs, and heart.
