writersavvy:

Hello everyone,

The Kickstarter for Amya’s next print project has gone live!

Please check it our here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1530128474/amya-volume-one

Amya tells the story of Faye, a mute spell-touched who lives a sheltered life as the youngest daughter to a great lord. She is burdened with dark dreams of an apocalypse, and it isn’t long until her tranquil life changes when a fateful encounter with a young man sends her on a spiraling journey of self-discovery.

As Faye and her unlikely companions pursue an adventure that is greater than any of them could have anticipated, she discovers how heavy the burden she carries truly is. She is to be the pinnacle of the world’s survival or destruction, and must decide if she wishes to sacrifice her own humanity for the world — or the world for her humanity.

Please consider supporting the campaign by either spreading the word or donating. It would mean so much to us! Amya is our dream as well as our passion. We need your help to take it further!

All my thanks,

Savannah Houston-McIntyre

A reminder that the Amya Kickstarter is still ongoing! We are now past the 6k point! Thank you so much for all of your support so far! Please consider checking out the Kickstarter if you haven’t already, and re-blogging. :)

On a journey north to visit her ailing grandmother, Elanore Redley encounters the reclusive Count Wolfram while fleeing a monstrous pursuer.
As the mysterious Wolfram draws her into his magic-filled world, her childhood friend Edmund must come to terms with his own feelings towards Elanore and his identity as a hunter.
While the world slips into darkness and the threat of monsters looms, Wolfram struggles against a fate that would force him to live out a famous but decidedly unpleasant fairy tale.
“Red Riding Hood” is the introductory book to “Tales of the Big Bad Wolf”–an epic fairy tale world full of romance, mystery, and self-discovery.
PLUMSPEAK:
Hi all — it feels like it’s been a long time since I’ve posted any art. I’ve been focusing a lot on this project the past six-eight months!  This is the cover of the paperback version compiling the “Red Riding Hood” arc from “Tales of the Big Bad Wolf,” which is a weekly serial that has been running since 2010.
The art from this cover actually is part of a larger piece I did featuring the three major characters. However, by going for a cut-off view of the lead, the sense of drama was amplified further.
In any case, I will try NOT to spam you too much but I wanted to share that the paperback was made available at Sparkler Distro this past Monday!  It represents a year of me going through multiple proofs and trying to improve my Microsoft-Word-fu. ha!
The neat thing about this is that you can read the pre-edited version for free! Just follow the link now for the books and more information http://sparklermonthly.com/product-category/big-bad-wolf/
And since I have like no tumblr presence here (other than the random viral posts involving cosplayers and Labyrinth), I do appreciate any sharing/reblogging you can do :).

Taken with my camera, because my scanner is out of commission. Eventually a proper scan will be posted on the website.
This is a watercolor piece of Faye done by the lovely Veronica Vera of Bitter Sweet Candy Bowl, which is a high-school drama comic. It’s a great read so check it out!
And please don’t forget to check out the Amya Kickstarter which is still ongoing!

Lynn “Kaden” Keyanna from Amya Chronicles by Savannah Houston-McIntyre, Andrew Hewitt, and Rebecca Gunter-Ryan

Though I’m finally getting around to offering her a writeup, Kaden, the pistol markswoman from the lovely webcomic Amya Chronicles, was one of the characters who first inspired my blog here at Sartorially Smart Heroines. I picked Kaden for this week’s writeup to coincide with and promote Savvy, Andrew, and Rebecca’s Kickstarter for the print version of Volume One of the Amya series. As an independent, fan-supported webcomic, ventures like this Kickstarter are crucial for keeping the comic going, and I hope all of you will consider supporting them by offering a donation or just by helping get the word out.
